ଅର୍ଥ : The acetylated derivative of salicylic acid. Used as an analgesic anti-inflammatory drug (trade names Bayer, Empirin, and St. Joseph) usually taken in tablet form. Used as an antipyretic. Slows clotting of the blood by poisoning platelets.
